Location was totally on point! Like, right in the heart of Gion, super charming! Our room had this cute little garden view that made chilling in the morning a vibe. The staff was lovely and spoke good English so chatting was easy peasy. Breakfast was an interesting take, very different but worth a try!

The wifi signal dropped frequently!!! The bathroom lacked any notable luxury touches, making it feel ordinary. The distant noise from outside disrupted tranquility, and there's definitely need for more attention to room upgrades!!!

I was quite disappointed with the breakfast options. The first breakfast was a delightful bento box, but subsequent meals were served at a nearby cafe offering Western-style food. I had hoped for more traditional Japanese breakfasts and felt let down by the change in quality and experience.

gion oyado kikutani is in a stunning location right on a quiet street in the gion district, within walking distance to the beautiful kiyomizudera temple. the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, going above and beyond to accommodate us, especially when we had to leave a day early because of the typhoon. we couldn't recommend this place enough.

The heated floors in the bathroom were a luxurious touch, and the quiet atmosphere made mornings enjoyable while overlooking the peaceful garden. The free breakfast at the local café was a delightful start to our days.

I stayed in the Superior Twin Room with Garden View for 2 nights. The room was spacious and had a really nice vibe. The bathroom was clean and made showering feel like a mini spa. I loved the private onsen—it was such a cool feature! Plus, the location was super chill. I felt right at home here!

Just a great fit for a weekend outing in Kyoto with all in all brilliant value for money. The warm, heated bathroom floors made our mornings so much better as we started each day. Don't miss out on trying the local breakfast cafe nearby, even if it's a small walk.

The room was beautiful with an amazing garden view, and the soft PJs provided made me feel incredibly relaxed, you just don't wanna take them off! Also, the host was friendly, and speaking good English helped us a lot with local tips, he was a gem.

It definitely wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.
